Day 5 at PATRON . . .

After  a few days of working at the Soho Patron location I have managed to cut the hell out of everything I could find.  Images of Madonna, Francois Sagat, and Eric from True Blood (also known as Alexander Skarsgård) have all be cut. Here are some pictures from the last few days.

So many Francois Sagat

Organized desk

Alexander Skarsgård, he'd make a good James Bond.

At the end of the day . . . messy floor.
My last day is Tuesday and then my finished piece will go on eBay.  I'll post a link to my piece asap. Stay warm friends.

Patron's "Simply Perfect" Art Project

My first day at Patron was strange to say the least.  Aside from cutting out images for 8 hours straight, talking to some hot chick named Monica, and not eating all day . . . I got a long distance email from a "friend" who wants to get drinks soon.  It was all I could think about all day ... Christmas came early this year.

Tote bag full of shit to cut.  Trust me its alot!!!

This is a detail of the window installation to Patron.

Christmas came early . . . here's a clue

A fan wrote me a letter on my first day at Patron!  If you can read it, please let me know what it says.

If you can name the magazine or ad campaign where I got the image of this guy in a pink suit I will give you a piece of art.

Art Basel 2011 and everything else ...

I returned to New York with a head (and iPhone) filled with images and opinions about ART BASEL, Art Miami, PULSE, and Nada.  Overall, I felt the only work that was memorable was Nick Cave's installation at Art Basel.  As for the rest of the fairs ... each one had it's issues but my favorite was PULSE.  Each booth seemed to have an incredible mix of young artist with a refreshing perspective.  While I was there I was able to reconnect with some gallerist and I ran into some curators from NY.  As you can see from the pics below, I had a great time ...

On my way to Miami. I was alone until a family with a crying baby sat next to me.  The damn kid cried the whole time and the parents did nothing!  I wanted to stab them for two hours and 34 minutes.

The amazing NICK CAVE. I saw these and almost died.

Detail pic from above.

Another Nick Cave.  Feels very 70's.

My love of superheroes made me take a pic.  It was literally being purchased as I took this pic.  Reminds me of the aging superhero installation that the Whitney had a few years back. Jason Yarmosky rocks!

Augusto Esquivel . . . just buttons and strings. AMAZING

TOM SACHS. Loved it.

Last day there was spent on the beach.  Some much needed beach time was required considering the cold weather I was about to re-enter when I got back to New York.

This week in the studio & New York

As the days towards Art Basel get closer and closer, I ended up having more and more things to do each day.  I shouldn't even be blogging at this moment.  I should be putting away the 2 loads of laundry I did hours ago. Finishing up an application. Or maybe even sleeping.

This week, over Thanksgiving weekend, I spent alot of time in my studio working on some applications, framing works that are leaving soon, seeing my good friend Julie for an afternoon of walking around Central Park and checking out an exhibition at the MET.  Here are the images I took while in the studio in the last 7 days . . .

Here are the images I took running around the city in the last 7 days . . .

I want this. Why? For what? Just because.

One of the joys of working in the art world is visiting some amazing apartments.  This one happens to be for sale for just 6 million.  It's breath taking!!!

Great holiday window display at LV . . .
Louis Vuitton . . . I love you

Next project is with PATRON . . .  stay tuned

A trip down memory lane

As I plan my trip to Art Basel this year I began thinking about my time at the VERMONT STUDIO CENTER.  An entire month of art making was like heaven.  My time there was amazing and the photos make me smile...

4 days without an iPhone

Everyone knows I love my iPhone 4 but since I lost it over the weekend (really not sure where or when) I found myself with alot of free time.  Here is a list what I am no longer doing:

1. Random bullshit phone calls
2. Listening to other people bitch about their day
3. Texting
4. Sexting
5. Making TO-DO-LISTS
6. Playing around on my millions of apps.
7. Writing my will
8. Responding to emails

It feels great to have more "ME" time.  If I could I would be cell phone-less for awhile longer but the lovely people at AT&T are sending me a phone today and it should arrive by 3pm.  In just a few short hours I will return to the land of the living.

My New York

As the seasons change, the need for documenting nature begins.  I don't consider myself someone who loves natural, the closest I have been to nature is when I was living in Vermont for a month during an artist residency at Vermont Studio Center.  Aside from that, the only bit of nature I experience is in Central Park.  Nonetheless, I am slowly developing an appreciation of nature and the elements around me.  Here are some random images of fall in New York. (I'll post some image from Vermont Studio Center soon)

It's been too long ...

since I last posted something.  I have been busy juggling friends, work, making art, home repairs, and family stuff.  Nonetheless, I wanted to share some new images from my studio.  I am working on a few new pieces and you should take a peak...

Nothing is sexier then a nicely stretched piece of canvas... or two girls kissing . . .

I like to watch CRUEL INTENTIONS, (Sarah Michelle Gellar and Selma Blair pictured above) or any movie about people doing horrible things to each other for fun.

Some new works/works in progress...

More pics to come.
